Looking for a quick introduction to reliability AND a university certificate?

... IS4 has partnered with the
University of New South Wales for you

THE UNSW RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY AND MAINTAINABILITY (RAM) INTRO COURSE

AN INTRODUCTION TO RAM

You can't talk about reliability without also talking about availability and maintainability. Or RAM. Which is what you want when you are designing a new 'thing.' Or purchasing that 'thing' from someone else. You need to know how valuable RAM is, how your organization needs to be postured to get it, and how you make sure you end up with it when you have done all that other stuff.

This course was developed in conjunction with the UNSW in Canberra, Australia to support local industry and the Australian military. It has since grown to help out many more people on their RAM journey. And it's main focus is making you a better RAM engineer.

This course is an introduction course. It is the 'sibling' course to the 24-hour RAM Practitioners Course that focuses more on the application of these methods. And then there is the 40-hour RAM Management Course which is a combination of these two courses.

... WHAT ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE?

Once you are done, you will be mailed a certificate of completion by UNSW. And if you ever decide to enroll in certain UNSW masters degree programs, this will count to some of your credits!

WHAT DO YOU GET WITH YOUR ONLINE IS4 COURSE.

A lot.

Our live courses are run by instructors in our own studios. Everything looks and sounds sharp. And if there are lots of students, we have assistant instructors who can answer all your questions quickly and succinctly as we go.

Our catalogue courses are experiences that you will remember. We have scriptwriters who do nothing else but make sure we use words that make sense to everyone. We have animators and video editors who create visual learning cues and images to make concepts easy to grasp. And because we break our lessons into 15-minute chunks - you can really go at your own pace.

But there is more - you will get access to a specially created course webpage for 12 months. So you can (re)watch all live course lessons. So if you can't make it one day (or all days!) you don't have to miss a thing. This webpage will include all your learning resources such as handouts and charts. And of course you can talk to an instructor at any stage, schedule conversations if you are having trouble ... and pretty much anything else you can think of.

IT'S YOUR CHOICE!

WHAT IS THE UNSW RAM INTRODUCTION COURSE?

This is a 16-hour, live, online course delivered by one of our instructors. The course is broken down into  4 x 4-hour lessons delivered over a period of two weeks. But don't forget ... you will have access to the recorded lessons for 12 months.

The fundamental aim is to introduce students to RAM engineering. This is only the start of your RAM learning process, but you will be able to go back to your workplaces armed with the ability to understand the value of RAM and how it helps your business. Which makes you a better engineer.

Module 1 - Why is reliability valuable to you? ... where we start to talk about the value of RAM engineering and how to work it out for your organization.

Module 2 - What is reliability? … to your organization? ... which includes how we go about defining what we want to get in terms of RAM and the (high-level) approach to getting there.

Module 3 - How does your team make reliability happen? ... where we talk about how your organization gets from where it is now to one that can create value from your reliability.

Module 4 - How do YOU make reliability a thing? ... reliability happens at the point of decision - and by decision we mean something that influences the design or configuration of your thing. Which means you need to 'win friends' and value good behaviors. And lead.
